What We Do

Our founders are parents of a sickle cell warrior so they understand, firsthand, the needs of warriors and their caregivers.

We want to impact warriors and their families directly

We also want to support healthcare providers and staff.  It’s an absolute necessity to continuously educate our communities through spreading awareness of sickle cell disease.

Our first service project

Our first service project at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at the Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital in September of 2018 (September is Sickle Cell Awareness Month as well as Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month) was our Super Hero Day Project.

We helped the children visiting and some who had been admitted decorate their own pillows and picture frames. We also provided lunch for the children and their families and also the staff.

We will complete a service project each quarter for our children warriors and adult warriors with a goal in the future to increase our service projects to monthly.

Supporting Our Adult Sickle Cell Warriors

We love meeting our adult sickle cell warriors and hearing their stories. We also want to help them in any way that we can.  We choose to provide support where they receive medical care.  In Columbia, SC, our adult warriors can receive care at the Prisma Health Infusion Center and the Sickle Cell Home.  We are happy to have been able to make quarterly donations of blankets, personal hygiene items, hand sanitizer, and other items that a warrior may need while receiving care at these facilities.  In the future, we would like to provide pre-packaged care packages that include items that our adult warriors may need when they visit our local Prisma Health Midlands Emergency Department or the Infusion Center.  You can find out more about the infusion center by clicking here.
